Okay, here's a little secret. I want to be a wife of a really rich guy. LOL! So shallow but yeah, that's some life right there... but that completely has nothing to do with this review.

So anyways, I watched 21 last Sunday with two people (wannabe gamblers!) and no, I didn't unleash the gambler in me. It was a fun movie, got me lost in the entire "simple" Math computations but hey, it was pretty logical still... if you ask me.

What's this movie about? Well, it was inspired by the true story of five students who changed the game forever. You know, 21.. aka Blackjack. Yeah, it's a game we play here when we're bored and we got a lot of ka-ching to spare... It's also a game I play on my ipod when I'm bored. But it's a far cry from being a boring game. Haha.

Plot from IMDB:
Ben Campbell is a young, highly intelligent, student at M.I.T. in Boston who strives to succeed. Wanting a scholarship to transfer to Harvard School of Medicine with the desire to become a doctor, Ben learns that he cannot afford the $300,000 for the four to five years of school since he comes from a poor, working-class background. But one evening, Ben is introduced by his unorthodox math professor Micky Rosa into a small but secretive club of five students, Jill, Choi, Kianna, and Jimmy whom are being trained by Professor Rosa of the skill of card counting at blackjack. Intrigued by the desire to make money, Ben joins his new friends on secret weekend trips to Las Vegas where, using their skills of code talk and hand signals, they have Ben make hundreds of thousands of dollars in winning blackjack at casino after casino. Ben only wants to make enough money for the tuition to Harvard and then back out. But as fellow card counter, Jill Taylor, predicts, Ben becomes corrupted by greed and his arrogance at winning which lets his feelings get in the way, and it also puts Professor Rosa, as well as the group, on the radar of a brutal casino security enforcer, named Cole Williams, who holds a personal grudge of some kind against Rosa which threatens to undo everything the students have learned and earned.

Okay, don't even ask how I managed to get myself a DVD screener of the movie... Let's just say it fell right into my hands. If you're curious enough, just wait for the 28th. It opens in theatres by then! Oh and I almost forgot to mention, it's so weird at how 2 Superman actors were in this film, namely: Kate Bosworth and Kevin Spacey! That's Lois Lane and Lex Luthor to you! LOL.. I was secretly hoping hunky Brandon Routh would do a cameo... but alas, sorry girls.

Here's a trailer for you movie buffs...

Enjoy!
